President Young taught our District Leaders how to become powerful teachers by teaching short powerful lessons by the Spirit. He also taught them how to identify those shadows in their lives that keep them from reaching their potential. With the light of Christ we can see things more clearly.

July 2, 2012 - MIRACLE MONDAY!

Since the 4th of July came in the middle of the week, President Young switched P-Day from Monday to Wednesday. After a special mission-wide day of fasting and prayer on Sunday, Monday would be a day of Miracles! Here is just a small example.....

"We placed three Book of Mormons and got two new investigators and strengthened our testimonies that the Lord is preparing people to receive the restored Gospel."

Trainers' Training

April 2 was Trainers' Training. Those chosen to train the incoming missionaries met at the mission home to prepare for the new arrivals.

This month we are welcoming 4 couples to the EOM. The Turners to serve in Yreka, California; The Oliphants to serve in the office in Eugene; The Birts to serve in Prineville and the Terrys to serve in Burns.We are so happy to have them join us!

Record Snow in Willamette Valley

An early-spring storm dumped up to 7 inches of snow on Eugene, making it the biggest snowfall to hit this late in the season in 73 years of record-keeping. Several mission areas were spared but between Eugene and Salem some experienced loss of power due to downed trees and power lines. All the missionaries were restricted from driving and everyone was safe.
